Correct Use of Outdoor Décor and Outdoor Furniture

I have a friend who’s an excellent chef. He used to have his own restaurant that had the strangest outdoor décor. He thought it was quite chic to decorate with old pink toilets, tubs, and sinks. I am a firm believer in,”To each his own”, however, I do not think this particular outdoor décor did his food justice.

I much prefer outdoor décor that was meant to be outdoors. It just looks better. It also holds up to the elements better. I am not against bringing décor outdoors for a specific purpose and then taking it back indoors. It is needed sometimes to accommodate a special event or a big crowd of people.

I also have the same set of standards for outdoor furniture. If the furniture is meant to be inside, it should really stay inside. It is a very college or fraternity house look to have an upholstered couch on the front porch. By the same token, I do not enjoy sitting on white plastic chairs when I go to my friend’s house for dinner though sometimes it is needed; especially with a big crowd such as a family reunion or large party.
