I Can Hear the Birds Singing in the Morning

I’m not sure which is the more definitive sign of spring; that I can hear the birds outside singing in the morning or I can actually have the window open to hear them. To tell the truth I really don’t care, just as long as it gets warmer outside, I can get some fresh air and the birds return to my garden. I’ll start rummaging around in the garage and the basement soon, so I can bring out all my summer garden paraphernalia and one of the things I’m most looking forward to bringing out is my Antique Brass Aspen Leaf Birdbath.

I’ve often given thought to leaving it out all winter, but I’m just not sure that the winter birds really need another ice rink, so I wait until the spring to return my favorite birdbath to the garden. It has an antique brass-verdi finish and when I put it on the twisted stake ( that I had to buy separately) it stands just high enough to clear the flowers and shrubs in my garden that will soon start to grow again. I love spring and the things it brings back to me and to think – the best of them will be available as great Mother’s Day gift ideas, so – like good mom’s everywhere I can help my family with a few very pointed hints about great gift ideas for their mom.
