So, how does one eat Goji berries?
Autor admin
Goji berries are rarely to be found fresh outside the areas where they grow, but are instead sold dried, and in juice form. Some of the dried berries are extremely dessiccated and hard, and others have a more raisin-like substance. In fact the appearance of the fruit, as it is most widely sold, is quite reminiscent of red raisins. The taste lies somewhere between the sweet and the sour, some say it resembles cranberries, and others believe it to be almost a cross between strawberries and raspberries.
In many supermarkets you can get Goji juice these days, but often it is mixed with water and sugar. Specialized health stores are more likely to carry pure juice. It’s also possible to get Goji trail mix, Goji herbal tea, Goji crunch bars and cereals and various other things. There are also various wines that contain Goji berries, and at least one brand of beer that’s made in China. The berries can be used in many recipes as well, either dry or soaked in water to plump them out.
